A resident of Son Duong town, Tuyen Quang province has just been summoned by the Son Duong district police for interrogation for the act of posting “false information” and  causing “confusion in the public.”

Vietnam’s state-controlled media quoted a source from Son Duong District Police as saying so on July 21.

The video posted by Mr. Nguyen Ba Luong (24 years old) on his personal Facebook on July 20 shows a resident with a knife chasing some policemen on the street and this police group seems to have difficulty controlling the man.

The video immediately received a lot of interaction and was reposted by a number of other Facebook accounts.

Some of the comments below the video in some of the other Facebook accounts that re-posted the video also commented on why the police often advertise martial arts but why so many police officers couldn’t deal with one person.

According to the police, at around 3:10 p.m. on July 20, at the People’s Committee of Son Duong town, Ta Quang Minh (33 years old, in Son Duong town) intentionally injured an official of the Son Duong Town People’s Committee with a knife.

Immediately after the incident, the police force was present to control Minh, but Minh held a knife to chase four policemen.

Later, Minh was restrained and brought to the district police headquarters for settlement.

According to the police, when the incident happened, Nguyen Ba Luong recorded the video and posted it on his personal Facebook page “Nguyen Ba Luong (Luongg Tungg)” managed Luong, using the content “Turning tension at the Son Duong district committee, slashing district officials is always hot. It’s also amazing that it doesn’t work compared to the blue shirt guys.”

Currently, Son Duong District Police are consolidating the case against Nguyen Ba Luong for posting false information, causing confusion in public opinion in accordance with the law.

Son Duong district police recommend people not to post or share unverified, untrue information that violates the Cybersecurity Law.

Currently, the video is no longer on Nguyen Ba Luong’s Facebook page.

In the comments under this status, Mr. Luong said he would face a fine of between VND5 million and VND10 million ($448).
